THE BRIEF

Let the light back in.

The primary bath had grown dark and dated, closed off from the light and short on the storage a daily routine needs. The clients wanted the opposite of what they had: brightness, openness, and a sense of calm to begin and end the day in.

We opened the space and rethought it around natural light, then layered in floor-to-ceiling marble and clean, large-format tile so the room would feel serene rather than busy. Storage was built in wall to wall, and mirrors were placed to carry the light deeper into the room.

“We still can’t believe it’s the same room. It’s so bright and open now, the transformation is unreal.”

— Barb & Randy S.

THE DETAILS

Small room, big decisions.

01

A window in the shower

A transom window brings daylight into the shower without sacrificing privacy, a first for the studio and worth every conversation with the contractor.

02

Marble, floor to ceiling

Continuous stone and large-format tile keep the eye moving and the room feeling expansive.

03

Considered storage

Built-in cabinetry and well-placed mirrors handle the practical, so the room can stay quiet and uncluttered.
