THE BRIEF
Honor the Tudor, lighten the load.
The family loved the character of their Tudor, the sense of permanence and craft, but the home had grown heavy over the years and no longer matched the way they actually lived. They wanted cohesion from room to room, a kitchen built for real gathering, and an atmosphere that felt collected rather than decorated.
We reworked the home from the palette up, drawing its best architectural instincts forward while quietly modernizing everything around them. The goal was a house that felt like it had always been this way: timeless, grounded, and unmistakably theirs.

A new two-story stone fireplace anchors the great room, flanked by custom cabinetry that holds both storage and the family’s history.

Locally crafted, ceruse-finished white oak cabinetry and leathered quartzite surround a double island, made for many hands and easy hosting.

A custom ceiling trim detail reads like a structural beam, one of the quiet moves that makes the new work feel original to the house.
